I purchased it in 1992 from the original owner as a basket case headed for the crusher. It was for the most part complete. It had received numerous repairs to the body over the years, some well done some not so much. I still considered it to be a good candidate for a restoration and perhaps necessary by virtue of its VIN# alone. After a few years of it sitting around I disassembled it completely and put it up on the racks. To make very long story short, I think that I may have replaced at least half of its sheet metal during the process (interior & exterior) and although I still have ALL of its original numbers matching engine and drive train, (fully rebuilt and mounted on a custom color matching cart) I decided to install the new spare 72-2.4 L AND "A" type 5-Speed from my 72 240 Z that was getting a 3.1 L Stroker Motor. I also installed a OEM LSD (Salisbury/clutch pac) in a R-180 moved back the 37 mm. Two and a half years later I had what is seen in this pic. For the most part it is somewhat stock with only minor interior and exterior mods.. As much as I like to drive it, I have only racked up some 4,500 mi. since it was recommissioned it 2001.
