I purchased it in 1983 from the second owner (although I drove it before she did). It was originally purchased from Decorimer Datsun in Manchester Ct. in April of 1972. It was still in fairly good shape having only minor repairs to the usual areas that Zs are very prone to. I drove it until 1994 (100k+mi) when I decided that it was time for a little make over. Like my '70 (which was actually done up after my '72) I completely dissembled it and put it up on the rack. Although some might consider it to be an extensive restoration I didn't think so. As you can see in the pics it got a bit more than just a little makeover. The whole nose is for the most part fiberglass (fenders & flares, air dam and raised hood), the rear has blended steel flares undercut for fat 245/60-14s and finished off with Razorback Louvers and an original BSR blended Ducktail that has been a little modified for some specific purposes. Underneath is where it gets a little more interesting. In a nut shell it has a 3.1 L Stroker motor in front of an 'B' type 5-Speed and followed by a R-200/3:55 open diff (someday I'll install my R-200/3:90 Quaife) Although the list goes on and on I don't want to appear boorish. It's been a great car and like my '70, I wish that I could drive it more. It has only racked some 12,000 mi. since I recommisioned it 1997.
