The "donor clip" is a 1973 510 4dr that I trucked in from NC one weekend. At the time I didn't know what to use it for but it was rust free and I thought it might someday come in handy.....It certainly did. It is a clean clip on with only minor mods to the sub-frame floor runners and trani tunnel (Wagon has larger ones) which I was able to salvage from the original and plug weld back on. As you might all suspect alignment is critical as well as the mig-welded joints. All welds were at original seams with the exception of the windshield pillars and rear arches that were seamed welded and ground (and yes I DID reinforce the pillars). All in all it took me approx. 400 hrs to return the shell back to its original state and I would like to think perhaps a little better. Although the State of CT. was a bit reluctant to issue me a "New" reg. for the car due to the "reclipping" by a non-certified body shop....ME...I was able to convince them overwhelming otherwise.
